Piaa Piaaaaaaaa!

BLAM! Golden Globes had me in the mood for one of the best looking upsets ever in Pia Zadora, a true pop idol till the end.

Last week's playlist here. Some classic house and rave music (diva vocals are ruling me lately) and the other half of my terrible early 90's dancehall collection acquired at PRex of note.

Wayne has picked up where I left off combing out the iMeem juke scene big time! His recent move to Chi town luckily puts him right in the thick of it so we're sure to hear more on this from the Waxman himself.

Also got a few things that are Internet old news but glaringly obvious in their absurdity. I'll post em here in case you didn't know, and to prove a point, THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING!

DJ Drama and Don Canon arrested on what have to be the most ridiculous grounds in hip hop history. Story broke on Fox News with better perspective at AllHipHop.com. I attended a panel on mixtapes at CMJ two years ago and I remember hearing MattSoReal and Zvi Edelman talk about the hipocritcal practices of the record industry when comping tracks to mixtape artists. I don't think it's a far cry to say the mixtape DJ's saw this day coming. Up to the minute info at freethedjs.com.

And I like Timbaland as much as the next guy, but he's gotta own up on this one. It appears one of his beats on the Nelly Furtado album is ripped right out of the hands of a Finnish guy with some Commodore chops. The ytmnd does I think the best job of comparing the two, but there's a Youtube vid and a thread at Something Awful which may have broken the news. Perhaps a mistake on a ghost beat from another producer? In any case, Timbaland, we see you.

Alright that takes care of that. On the live tip, Flavorheard rocked Enormous this past Saturday and will do so every third Saturday of the month from now on. Yours truly will be DJing what is shaping up to be an awesome dirty south crunk ass barbecue this Friday night in Davis Square feat Nick, Teep, Bunyip to name a few (email me for details). Catch your Mofo Radio tomorrow night. Thanks thanks,

-Ghostdad
