Summertime blog hours in full effect and I've been slacking major on posting. Catch up on the playlist from last night and last week! Been meaning to do some house cleaning and shout out the new Fully Fitted e.p. (pictured above) that we've heard some cuts from in the last few programs. Be sure to cop it here and more Fully Fitted action there! Been on to that Hundred Million remix for a minute now:
Much love to the new Emynd on Unruly as well. Tracks from that on the program also. NOT the tune "To All My Haters" though...for obvious reasons. Get that EP at Unruly Online and holler and the dudes at Crossfaded Bacon.
A few gigs I've been shouting about include Bass Invaders, TONIGHT at the Milky Way with special guest Brek. One! Check out this mix by Brek and then get over there already!
And next week some dudes providing dub step and then some on an extra Thursday for the month. All new names to the Milky Way including Taliesin, reppingDuttyArtz out of NY!
Alright I think that above covers self and friends of self promotion for a bit. I'll be with you again Wed. on air but see if you can't drop by tonight and say hello!

Ilana says yes to Bass, No to Software
Jazzy Respect, Lil Twain, Global Maestro, call her what you will my dear old friend Ilana came out to guest on the show last week! Never got the whole story on that water bottle, but that shirt (courtesy of Gutter Butter) ensures she's repping Chicago to the fullest. Former WOBCer and current Chicagoite, Ilana DJ's the occasional dance party queer and otherwise with an ear to the ground for old vinyl, blog finds, and overseas hits. See the playlist here and audio below!
Hectic start with a mix from reggaeton pioneer Playero DJ to get things settled. Plenty of tunes from Ilana's hard drive and internet finds. CD's from a recent trip to Egypt, and a harsh 30 minute high school jazz band arrangement of Lady Madonna to close it out so be be sure to catch all the action. Thanks again to Ilana for coming through! Sharing tracks back and forth just like old times although I don't think we ever shared time on the air. Total blast!
No Mofo tonight. I've got to run down to NU to open for Andrew W.K. who will be speaking tonight at Northastern. Sorry to leave you all but this was too random a gig to pass up. See you in a week!

Bass Invaders Jam The Box on VE Radio
I got linked up with Stef at Vinyl Exchange through my main man Beat Perv, and when it came time to put together an all vinyl mixtape for Vinyl Exchange Radio, given the weight of the other mixes in the series, I knew I would need reinforcements. Nick and I have been meaning to lay down a mix featuring the classic tracks we try and interject into our monthly night Bass Invaders and this turned out to be the perfect opportunity given most of these classics come in the form of wax. Nick's been collecting this kind of stuff a bit longer then I and his crates surely show it as a lot of these gems belong to him. There are a few new joints in there as well, both from the FlaminHotz catalogue which kind of worked out that way cuz we actually spin those records at the Milky Way a lot. Anyway thanks to Vinyl Exchange for putting us on, Nick Yoder for having deep crates, Emynd and Bo for the dope tunes, and you for giving it a listen! Please do download it! It was recorded live at WMFO during Nick's radio offering two weeks ago.
Up this week atVERadio.com Soon to be permalinked there too.
