Or was it The Rascal and Chris Devlin guesting on last week's show? Heard a bunch of stuff from Chris's crates. Weird music from Alan Parsons, plenty of disco/funk, exclusives from the Baltimore Bass Connection and Santo Gold, and electro bosa from the place where the Rascal used to work, plus more! There was so much stuff flying around the studio I didn't manage to keep a proper playlist, but check the audio to see for yourself. Plenty of chatter on all the tunes, as well as Chris's current and upcoming dates and projects.
See Fully Fitted to stay up to date on Devlin/BBC whereabouts, and be sure to check his Shake Em Down monthly at the Milky Way coming up in a few weeks.
Big thanks to Chris and Rascal for being on the program. If you're looking for a Thurs. destination this week there's always Bass Invaders at the Milky Way, but don't take my word for it! Back on the air Wed.
Also feeling these Ricky Blaze beats chatted up on the Mad Decent blog not too long ago. As catchy and dance phenom worthy as Cut Dem Off is, I can't get over the beat behind Peopla Wanna Dance. Strangely familiar. Dug up via p2p sharing.
We also heard music from DJ Spooky , remixing Badawi on Units of Resistance. I'm psyched to be opening for Spooky at the ICA's second "Experiment" along with Lone Wolf, Kingdom, DJ Die Young, and Baltimoroder. Paul Miller will be lectruing Thursday and performing with strings on Saturday as well. More info at ICA's wesbite, and peep the flyer below.
Chris Devlin on the show tomorrow for real this time. See last week's entry for the quick rundown on him. See you then!

hip hop tapes
There's nothing better then a hip hop cassette. Pop it in your pocket, then into the car stereo and you're ready to bump tunes uninterrupted. Walkman on the hip is also a good look. Some gems in last weeks show. Pictured above you got B.G. the Prince of Rap, Entouch classic 2Hype, and R.O.C. giving us a smooth take on My Girl. Hopefully that smoothness maintains in the digital format. Check out the street mix for added flavor.
Coming up (edit) IN TWO WEEKS (hopefully) special guest Chris Devlin brings a post tour jetlag sack full of remixes, originals, and some favorites from his crates. Chris is just back from the Australian party plane with Spank Rock (with BBC), and sometimes backs up the recently Fader featured Santo Gold. He's a Balmore native turned JP local holding down nights around town in addition to his jet setting schedule. We'll roll out some jams and chat on everything he's got going on then. In the time being, see me tomorrow night with whatever I can dig up.

Spring kickoff
Mofo Radio spring kickoff in 15 minutes on WZBC (getting cued up now) and some Ghostdad happenings coming up. First, watch Aurgasm for a post from yours truly on my latest Balkan obsession, watch it anyway cuz it's a kick ass blog offering the finest in new music. Second come to Zuzu for a Sunday night get down with your truly. Sundays are chill there so I get to lay out a bit, some weirder jams in there. See you then, and now on the air!

Better in 08!
Sorely out of touch over the holiday. I've been getting caught up on some freelance work while at my mom and dad's house. Also rewatching The Wire on their fancy cable. Totally worth it. Finally got away from the TV and computer screen to see friends in NY this past Sat. Big ups to Uproot Andy (pictured above) who put down an awesome set of Balkan material, also bringing in Brazilian and African beats (no lie). Check him out as often as possible at the Mehanata Bulgarian Bar on the lower east side where I think he's a regular (Eugene Hutz also in the lineup). As for end of the year wrap ups, I've been enjoying the mixes recommended by bros at Fully Fitted. Hit them up for the downloads.
Resolutions for 2008 include stepping up my game. I'd like to apply said resolution to pretty much everything I'm doing. Expect new things from the solo and live career (not what this blog is about) and new and even better things from the radio show (what it's about). More guests, more vinyl, more mptrees, all providing more material for this here web page. For now, having stepped up my digital camera game, this is a good chance for me to reup on record covers really doing it for me right now. Expect some choice cuts in 08! See you next Wednesday.
