Former US Postal worker, and up and comer in the Boston hip hop scene Ryan Durkin joined us on the program last week. Plenty of Durk originals and as well as vinyl selections from his mailbag. Check out the abbreviated two hour special below. Playlist here.
Hear more from Ryan and his collaborators at the official Durkin myspace. Backing up dudes like Jelani Day, Anonymous, Jawn P., these guys are all sure to be making things happen in the future.
That's your last Mofo fix till after the new year so be sure to give it a listen. On winter break and already gone to points south for the holiday. I'm gonna try and get together some supplemental blog material and end of the year wrap ups while chilling with the fam down here in Jers. Till then good luck with the holiday rush!
Wanted to let everyone know I'll be playing at Zuzu Sunday before heading south for holiday mayhem. Should be a chill night, so stop by for some eggnog (if they have eggnog).
New England up and comer Ryan Durkin on the program tonight. We're gonna hear big things from this kid in the future. Join us in the now for some of his favorites, originals, and unreleased material. That's live Wed. night at 10 don't miss it!

African bloggage
More love for African around the net as of late which reminded me to dig up some mp3's from Kenya I've been meaning to sift through. I owe most of them to a friend of mind who let me burn 2 data cd's worth of stuff she brought back. A lot of it is way poppy but some of the beats really bang. From what I can tell the above "Wariah" pokes some fun at Muslim/Christian conflicts. Also makes good use of the Mas Que Nada melody which has me hooked. I'd post up my file but it's pretty poor quality (most likely ripped from the above source). Here are a few other tracks we heard. Mwafalanguzi we've heard on the show a bunch, and some Kenyan reggaeton new to the air. Not as much info on these, can anyone help ID?
Music from the net on the show with a Senegalese mixtape excerpt shared by Ghislain Poirier via Mad Decent. The new DJ Spooky mix is also worth a mention, featuring tracks from around the continent it was prepared for his installation at this year's Venice Biennial art exhibition. We'll probably hear some excerpts from that this week along with whatever else I can sift from the pile. See you Wed. night,
